Double internship delivers great value
At Stark we have always been blessed by excellent candidates for our engineering internships. In 2020 we were double blessed as we decided to offer an internship to two excellent engineers-in-training. Working and learning alongside each other, George and Sayani were able to learn and achieve more than we could have expected. This was not only exciting for Stark, but also extremely valuable for our interns.
Sayani confirms: "While looking to gain experience in the industry as a student training to be an engineer, I did not think I would be given an opportunity to contribute at a capacity that I was able to at Stark. The vision of the project had been laid out very clearly to us and it aligned very well with my interest in applying control methods to renewable energy technologies. The work involved applying engineering concepts, learning new technologies and software as well as managing the timeline and goals of the project. Having a co-intern to learn and work with made the process a lot more enjoyable as we were able to share our ideas, discuss our individual progress and acknowledge major achievements during the course of the project.
It also helped to have senior engineers in the office willing to address our concerns and offer feedback. The experience I have had at Stark has been invaluable and I know that I have learned lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my career."
George couldn't agree more: "At Stark, I get to learn something new everyday. I work closely with the directors and the senior engineers, they are very friendly and always ready to help me to further develop my engineering skills."
We are convinced they both have a great career ahead of them as they finish their respective degrees. Moreover, the work they completed will prove to be an excellent tool for our customers with Jenbacher control systems. The connoisseurs will see what we mean from the sneak-peek that comes with this article.
