The objective of this study was to assess dosimetric alterations occurring within the initial month following the application of GammaTile surgically targeted radiation therapy (STaRT) for gliomas employing Cesium-131 (Cs-131) seeds. These changes were primarily associated with seed displacement resulting from cavity shrinkage in brain brachytherapy. The study uncovered notable findings, revealing a maximum seed displacement of up to 7.3 millimeters and a mean seed displacement of 1.8 millimeters during the initial month following the implementation of GammaTile STaRT for gliomas. These observations underscore the importance of monitoring and addressing seed displacement due to cavity shrinkage in order to optimize the therapeutic outcomes of this treatment approach.https://mu.connect2clinic.com/doctor/description/med-of-the-day/ee3fc0ce-cba5-4cd1-8a52-1d7d65cf1dcf
