The profile picture is often the first impression people get when they find out about you on LinkedIn. A good picture reveals your personality, makes you shine, shows your professional image, credibility and helps you differentiate from your competitors. Especially important for freelancers!

Apply Gestalt to your LinkedIn profile picture

The gestalt theory of perception attempts to explain the way the human brain interprets information about relationships and hierarchy in an image based on visual cues like proximity, similarity, and closure. 3 年Should you prefer an algorithm to judge your pic, snappr.co/photo-analyzer will do that for you. Not saying that the algo knows better than the human!

3 年Smile and a recent picture are the top two criteria. Your profile on LinkedIn is never done? Keep updating your experiences sector and also your profile photo. Remote photo shoots are a thing. I had a great experience with a photographer in the UK John Cassidy【ツ】 Too often I meet people on Zoom and the reality does not correspond the picture. A smile makes it easier to reach out to you and connect with you. That’s the point here, isn’t it? Thanks for putting together these tips Jenny Bj?rkl?f!
