You have made significant contributions to the tech ecosystem in Kenya through various initiatives including Funlings Coding for Kids and Koding and Kahawa.? Please explain how you got started with these initiatives and how they feed into your vision.

?I started these initiatives out of a desire to give back to the community and to address the gaps I observed in tech education and exposure. Funlings Coding for Kids began when I noticed the lack of early exposure to technology for children coupled with my desire for children to be prosumers of technology. I wanted to create a fun and engaging way for kids to develop an interest in tech as well as learn programming. Koding and Kahawa was inspired by the need for a relaxed, informal environment where tech enthusiasts could network, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. My overall vision is to foster a vibrant, inclusive tech community where everyone, regardless of age or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the tech ecosystem.

• How do you define success??

I define success as the ability to make a positive impact on people's lives and contribute meaningfully to my community. It's about achieving personal and professional goals while helping others achieve theirs. Success also involves continuous learning and growth, both for myself and for those I mentor and collaborate with.

What daily habits keep you on track??

• Morning Routine: I start my day with a clear routine that includes exercise, meditation, and planning my day. This helps me stay focused and energized.
• Prioritization: I make a to-do list and prioritize tasks based on their importance and deadlines. This helps me manage my time effectively and ensures that I stay productive.
• Continuous Learning: I dedicate time each day to learn something new, whether it's reading a book, taking an online course, or experimenting with new technologies.
• Networking: I make it a point to connect with my peers, mentors, and other professionals in the tech community regularly. This keeps me updated on industry trends and fosters collaboration.

What does purpose mean to you??

Purpose, to me, means having a clear sense of direction and meaning in what I do. It involves aligning my actions and goals with my values and passions. Purpose is about contributing to something larger than myself and making a lasting positive impact on the world. It's the driving force that motivates me to keep pushing forward, even when faced with challenges.

What are your core values and how do they influence what you do??

I want my legacy to be one of positive impact and empowerment. I hope to be remembered as someone who made significant contributions to the tech ecosystem, particularly in promoting diversity and inclusion. I want to inspire the next generation of tech enthusiasts, especially women and children, to pursue their passions and achieve their full potential. Ultimately, I hope my efforts will have helped create a more equitable and innovative tech community.
