Doors to Truth
Instinct is the first door
Through which truth appears from the universal store
Memory is its tool
For survival our animal past has created a pool
It commands us to pull our hand from fire
And to run when danger is dire
There is no scope to reason
Spontaneously, the body works with precision
It captures the known
And springs out truth from the infallible zone
It is an inheritance of millions of years
From the unconscious mind like a flash it appears
The second door to truth is intellect
Through reason, truth it seeks to collect
This is a recent arrival
Truth here seeks to move beyond survival
Reason we need to acquire and cultivate
With logic, argument and proof it does cognate
Spontaneously it cannot function
It uses a process to reach a conclusion
Intellect is an effort to seek the unknown
But into intelligence it needs to be grown
Since reason always comes with doubt
Into wisdom it must transcend for intelligence to sprout
The third door to truth is intuition
From some unknowable source it is a revelation
It simply bubbles up as dream, vision or vibe
And reveals the deepest truths of human tribe
Without a vehicle it travels
Without any steps it ravels
It is an inner light
Without a source which burns bright
It is a leap
Into mysteries profound and deep
Here truth is revealed from beyond the mind
To the rarest of rare this ability is confined
Truth we wanted to discover
The secrets we wanted to uncover
So in the consciousness of man
The whole ladder when we ventured to scan
Three doors we found
With a sliding scale of truth they were bound
The door of instinct is open for all
While intuition remains an esoteric call
Intellect can act as a bridge between the two
And to explain the truth which by intuition we knew
Instinct belongs to the body and intellect to the mind
And only in depths of our soul intuition we can find
