Don't Wish "Happy" Children's Day, Unless You Do This for Them . . .

Kids are the future Superheroes of the country. ??

It's essential that we train them to grow their own food, manage their finances, and use ecofriendly products.

Think about it.

We invest so much of time in enabling kids to be properly educated but give them negligible real life experience.

Learning about the war of 1869 isn't going to help win life - let's pique their interest in farming, in sustainability, in doing their bit for the ecosystem, and get them ready to solve the world's most pressing problems by the time they get to college.

School education is only empowering when ably supported by our society's role in getting them to a position where they don't look at getting that 'stable job, onshore opportunity, and then marriage' syndrome, but instead roll their sleeves and fight against the problems plaguing our country.

Their talents and creativity need to be used in visualizing and tackling problems back home, instead of merely nurturing them till 9th standard, and then cutting off all supply channels citing board exams.

With the advent of technology, the onus is on the parents to nudge kids in the right direction. Ask yourself this question -

Are you enabling all children to become creators, and not just consumers?

At our company, we have a group of kids who barge into our office and sit in our internal only meetings. They have personally sold over 1000 ecofriendly pencils to their schoolmates, all because they want to save the world. They accompany us over the weekends if we have farming workshops. They grow plants outside our office space, they feed the fishes we raise for our aquaponics experiment. We've given them free rein, and trust me when I say that they don't misuse the responsibility at all.

We've created an ecosystem where these kids can discover, leverage, and develop their creative energies and special talents. A space where kids can work together to combat the world's most pressing challenges, and create a better world for the future and beyond.

These kids brim with enthusiasm at anything close to interesting, and when the time comes to pass the baton on to them, they wouldn't be mired in an endless loop of exams and theory and no real-life experience.

There are millions and millions of such kids in our country...What are we doing to empower them? Think about it.

Happy Children's Day! ???
