As you may know, Google Analytics is changing the way it does things. From July, the current Analytics (Universal Analytics) is being ‘sunsetted’ - a nice term which means ‘going to stop working’.
Replacing Universal Analytics is a new set-up called GA4 (Google Analytics…4), which you would think would pick up where Universal Analytics left off…but no. Instead, GA4 has to be installed and configured on your website independently.
Ideally, GA4 would have already been set up in your Google account - running alongside universal Analytics and gathering data at the same time - which would make the transition a little more seamless; however, if that has not been done, then the best time to get GA4 set-up is now!
