Don’t try to run before you can walk

The title contains an interesting expression with a great meaning and an even better application. We are surrounded by expressions that shed light on knowledge and keep you from being blindsided or caught off guard. Enjoy the next paragraph and think about how you can apply it to your life.

You have arrived at your destination and now it’s time to get to work. A new adventure awaits you just around the corner. You can call it a day to prepare yourself for tomorrow, but I hope that you can hit the sack with a clear conscience. I used to run into every burning building when I was younger. Now I realize that I might get into deep water and I try not to make waves all of the time. What we often see is just the tip of the iceberg and we need to wait for the dust to settle sometimes. Make sure that you are not making a mountain out of a molehill and know that every cloud has a silver lining. My advice to you is that you don’t try to run before you can walk. Come up with a plan and try to avoid cutting corners. Will there be times in your life when you can kill two birds with one stone? Of course, there will be. Problems can be a blessing in disguise and when you are between a rock and a hard place, don’t be afraid to hold out an olive branch and get help.

So, put these words into practice. I can think of a great application regarding the need and desire to speak English as a non-native speaker. This can apply to any language for the most part and I have seen it myself as I try to improve my Portuguese. We want to be pros, but we have to put in the time. Perfection takes time and we need to create the openings to perfect what we want. Let's get started!
