Stop me if you think you've heard this one before....
I keep buying kitchen gear on a whim and hardly using it.
That might be because I've really got into Bengali cooking of late, but that's besides the point. If I by any more than my sister is going to have to make room for it when she visits Malta and borrows the spare room. And I'll be honest, I really thought that air fryer is going to change my life.
But if you think that's bad, spare a thought for the man who threw away his 150M+ bitcoin stash in the bin. He'll be dealing with that for the rest of his life.
I see people doing this all the time with client feedback videos, and their friends in business.
First they collect them, then they neglect them. It's a shame to see good tools gather dust. (Ask any staff member at B & Q)
And by the way, if you haven't given any effort or even thought to having your clients feedback filmed, whether that be doing it yourself, having them self record it (via sendspark for example) or hiring someone, then stop reading here. I'm sorry. There's just nothing I can do for you now.
For the rest of you, let's carry on.
So if we don't share our client feedback videos with our network, we lose out on two fronts.
1) They find it alot harder to bring us clients.
There is a reason sales trainers exist out there. Many of us are naff at selling. We score less than goalkeepers.
But if you think that's bad, picture what its like when a mate tries to sell your business.
Yep, unless they have a lot of cred with who they are selling to, then that ship is sinking not sailing.

Second they find it alot harder to open their own networks to us.
Sales will get you jobs, But our network can open bigger doors.
Many people are looking to get into the next market up. They want to go from the burger market to the lobster market (as my friend Lee Tunney-Ware would say). Or even one day the caviar market.
Your friends in business might be rooting for you, but that doesn't mean they're going risk their name being ruined by someone else's sloppy work. I've been friends with people for years, got to like them, only to hear they treated people in a way that stank to high heaven. If there's one thing I am sure of in business its how little we really know people.
Worse still is being the person who brought someone into their network, who later ruined it. No one wants that stain on their brand. They'd be like the people who did untold damage to Australia by bringing the cane toad.
So if you want to work in the caviar market, then your network needs to know you provide caviar level outcomes, treat people with that level of respect, and on a lesser known point, know how people at these people talk, how they like to do things (thanks Jeffrey Shaw ).
And by the way, no matter how many people know us, how long we've been in business or how well we get on with people, it's still peanuts compared to how clients feel about our work.
So what do you do?
It's not that hard really. Share your awesome client feedback videos with all those that know, like or trust us. Treat it as a celebration; business is tough, so why shouldn't we? Ask if the know anyone who would find this of interest. Don't direct sell to them. You'll kill any chance of them wanting to refer or open doors for you. And if you've nurtured those friendships in business, then before long they will. Never pre judge who will bring in the winning ticket either. You just never know. Make sure to share with every friend you have in business.
One more thing. They'll decide for themselves if they want to work with you after. Don't pitch, trust your client's feedback.
