Don`t be too pushy when trying to get personal data

Getting information from customers is inevitable for business, you can build you client base using that information, but sometimes marketers wiss go to far to get personal data. And that fact is annoying. According to new study 35.9 % of customers will distrust brands if they ask for their personal info. The reasons behind it might be recent public data scandals and data breaches.

Don’t get me wrong, marketers need to do it. Its important. But it should be like a transaction, not a one side transaction. You give your customers something valuable (content like newsletters, ebooks, video and so on) in exchange of their personal data. There are 2 takeaways from here:

1.    Offer something valuable to your customers, don’t something to make an exchange.

2.    Your goal is to help your customer, no matter if you resieve something from tham or now. Just do it couse its right.
