Don't Throw Bricks at a Builder

Throw some flat-out wrong thinking OUT THE DOOR!
Behind every entrepreneurial family is a plan for success. It may look like herding cats some days, but the next generation will hold the keys unlocking future doors?with proper perseverance in the training. Let me throw out some misconceptions:
??2nd Gen family ran businesses do not succeed. The children don't take on the same passion and respect to grow the American dream to raise a business up to provide for their families, whether small or large, private or even publicly traded.
??Kids these days just want technology to entertain themselves. There's a lackluster in creativity with too much screen time.
?? Companies that are still around today did it right from the beginning: knew the right people, had the ideal marketing and brand awareness, and had loads of cash to keep pumping through hard times.?
Let me tell you about Ole Kirk Kristiansen, starting a company in the 1930s.?
?? Wait...Like, right in the midst of suffering of the Great Depression after the stock market crashed and politicians had their crazy days with tariffs and a plague pandemic that led to the death of millions across the world???
??Hmm sounds eerily familiar...
Let's start debunking the above 3?? statements:
?? Families are made of people that, hopefully, spend time together talking about dreams and strategies to live life. Sure, some possess 'old money' or 'entitled' funds, but some blessings of Work with Dad or Mom Day leads to developing offspring who take hold of the passion of the original entrepreneur and use their next Gen education and tinkering to build the empire taller, larger, or progressive, in whatever that means.
?? Interestingly enough, 90 years later, that above company remained in the family, a son took over, and it's currently owned by one of the founder's grandchildren. This retailer reported that 2021 sales came in at over $8 billion . It opened 165 stores last year. They even have an online presence and an amusement park...
Talk above next Gen thinking.
?? Kids get interested in video games, ESPECIALLY ones that interact with people in platforms that cause them to be creative. You've heard of Minecraft , Fortnite , Animal Crossings, Roblox ...
(I won't go totally Tech Mom on you, but these games entice children when they meet a kid right where they are, in creative mode making friends.)
?? This above business dominates industry as it follows its mission to "be a global force for learning through play." Kids WANT to play creatively. They WANT to interact with others. Projects those little minds may enjoy with STEM projects for every age , including coding, math, and solar energy:

?? I gave you my thoughts on getting started before . Even imperfectly, build your dream.?
?? You read that the above company started their adventure in an era of not ideal timing. Here's a kicker: HE WASN'T IN THAT FIELD! The company changed names and experimented with branding at least 3 times. A patent didn't go through til 1958 . They saw down the tunnel of bankruptcy until they reviewed 3 things their current owner keeps Top of Mind:
So, tell me 10 stories about failures to succeed ?? moments.?Nah.
Not listening. ?? Enough negativity out there. I'll keep building my home and business with my family, brick by brick, like that Ole carpenter when he encouraged his own kids:?life is a gift, but at the same time can be challenging .
And if you haven't figured it out by clicking on any links above, let me make you gasp like my kids did when I told them about perseverance: the above company refers to the Lego company.
