Don't think who are in the opposition, think about who is with you

In the war of Mahabharat, the Pandavas has Shri Krishna with them against the battle against their cousins Kauravas. Arjuna is no exception as he was feeling how can he fight with own cousin brothers. He should perform his own Dharma. He should assess all the people impartially. Whoever deserves to be killed, they should be killed. Whoever deserves to be supported, they should be supported. This is what Lord Krishna preached. And this is what Arjuna also followed.

For a teacher, all the students are equal. One student may be his own son. Another student may be the daughter of his enemy. And so on. But, all the students should be same for him. All the students are same. But, it does not mean that he awards equal marks to all and passes all. He awards the marks impartially as per their performance. In the process, some students may pass and some students may fail. Teacher’s role is to perform his dharma i.e assess the performance of the students impartially and award marks as they deserve. Not only the teacher, each and every one of us should perform our own dharma.

What is the significance of Shri Krishna telling Arjuna how to kill his family, using Nishkama Karma, in the Shrimad Bhagwad Gita? There are no families or friends or relatives in a battle ground. There are only allies and enemies. Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta happened to clear this confusion. If you are a dog, you ought to bark, bite. Not jump around like a monkey. You be what you are, that is your dharma, by following your dharma you are doing your karma. A Neem tree should not dream about becoming a Mango tree. One should not go against one’s nature. Arjuna being a warrior he must perform his duty and not behave like a yogi which he is not.

Be what you are not what your parents or your society wants you to be. Is it that easy to reach the stage where you see yourself detached,not effected by anything good or bad? Shri Krishna said "tasmat tvam uttishtha yaso labhasva, jitva satrun bhunkshva rajyam samriddham, mayaivaite nihatah purvam eva, nimitta-matram bhava savya-sachin

Excerpt: Therefore get up and acqire fame.. After conquering your enemies you will enjoy a flourishing kingdom. They are already put to death by Me before., and you, O Savyasachi, be but an instrument in the war. After showing universal form Krishna told thus. Arjuna followed..he fought ..that doesn’t mean he rose above his human emotions. Arjuna still is in learning process. He tuned his mind to fight for dharma but still he did not reach the stage where he could not feel attached to his grandfather ,preceptor and son. It is a gradual process in which a man can reach that state. Arjuna who represents human aspect of the Supreme god ,Nar ,started his journey to turn Devine and unite with his counter part or alter ego Narayan. It takes time and effort to achieve the state of liberation.

You are probably a bolt in this universe, you have come here to perform your duty as a bolt, so don’t behave like a nut. This is all Shrimad Bhagwad Gita all about. Shri Krishna said duhkheshv anudvigna-manah

sukheshu vigata-spruhah

vita-raga-bhaya-krodhah

sthita-dhir munir uchyate

One who is not disturbed in spite of the miseries, who is not elated when there is happiness, and who is free from attachment, fear and anger, is called a sage of steady mind.

Shri Krishna tells Who is Stitadhi sage of steady mind and asks Arjuna to be like that. But Arjuna still has to strive hard to become like that. That is why Arjuna feels bad to strike his grandfather down,he cried on seeing him on arrow bed. Gets angry when Drona was killed by a lie Loses himself when Abhimanyu was slaughtered brutally in his absence. Takes a vow to kill Jayadratha ..In his journey towards the state of steadiness Arjuna did all these which are natural and inevitable.

Aftermath Of war. If we observe his transition we do perceive him differently after the war. When Karna’s identity was revealed,he was not shattered like Yudhishtir. He accepted the truth with dignity and poise. When Yudhishtir wanted to renounce kingdom,Arjuna tries his best to make him realise that whatever happened he should take it as the call of destiny and move forward.

To Arjun’s credit he was the recipient of Anugita also at Indraprasth palace from his soulmate. Arjuna emerged a winner in making Yudhishtir emperor again by his Ashwamedha conquests. He tried his best not to kill the kings but to win them over with minimum loss of lives as ordered by his brother. Shattered still did his duty..fulfilled his Madhav’s wish. Krishna reached his abode. Dwaraka merged in ocean,ordinary robbers succeeded in taking away women at will. Gandiv and quivers did not cooperate. But Arjuna could save the queens of Krishna and the successor of Vrishnis Vajra along with Satyaki’s son,Kritavarma’s son…

To accomplish all this in such a state of gloom and pain ..so much will power and sayyam is needed. This incident definitely proved Arjuna’s evolution. His journey has come to an end..and he realised in totality, what his Madhav said…" Karmanyevadhikaraste maa phaleshu kadachana"..Yes Arjuna reached that stage not by miracle but by doing karma.
