Don’t take no for an answer in your business

Don’t take no for an answer in your business

Don’t take ‘no’ for an answer, never submit to failure. Do not be fobbed off with mere personal success or acceptance. You will make all kinds of mistakes, but as long as you are generous and true, and also fierce, you cannot hurt the world or events. ”- Winston Churchill

Failure is inevitable in business. Especially if you are doing something new or something that is not along the lines of what is trending in that period, you are bound to fail at some point. And quite too often you will be rejected and hearing the word “No” will be the norm.

The best lesson or piece of advice I have come across that would help someone push through all the failure and rejections that they face in business, is ‘not taking no for an answer’ to any question.

That is a valuable mantra that is applicable in both your business and your life.

For most people, unfortunate odds are stacked against them the moment they decide to enter into the business world and if they need to push past the barriers they will need to learn the art of not accepting “No” because they will be told “No” every day, every week, every month, every year.

And the moment they accept those “No’s” will be the beginning of the end for them.

Now that doesn’t mean being stubborn and consistently pestering your customers or employees with the same horrible solution that is not working, that will be a complete waste of time and once you pester someone who has said no they will most likely keep saying no and will begin to view you as desperate.

It means not giving up on what you want to achieve and using your rejections to go back to the drawing board to refine the process and try again, it means having the confidence and believing in what you do so much that you are willing to perfect and show off how fun and efficient your idea/product is to new prospects over and over again until you get it right.

It means always thinking that ‘There is always a way’.

Thinking this way will create a mindset that focuses more on the solution than the monumental obstacle that is ahead of you. And when you adopt such a mindset you will tend to come up with more solutions than you would if you were to keep you mind solely focused on the obstacle and thinking it is immovable.

Obstacles come and they will continue to come every day.

But when you keep on working to get better, you slowly start to turn those obstacles and “No” responses into a “Maybe” and then finally to a “Yes.”

You need to trust your intuition, don’t allow people to cast doubt on your abilities and let you think that you are incapable of making your business a success. Every barrier can be overcome be it a gender, age, location or a financial barrier.

And the key to do all that lies in your ability to turn your “NO’s” into a solid confident “Yes”.

We can’t go into work with the mindset that the deck is stacked against us in a way that is impossible to overcome. In some cases, the problem we may be facing may be a huge obstacle for us, but remember that it is just one of hundreds we will see as we run a business and we need to become better to overcome it if we wish to reach the end.

So read books, have mentors, watch others and build relationships. You never know where all these may take you.

Focus on Creating something that will make people say yes and not on the ‘actual’ rejections. Use your “No’s” to get you closer to the “Yes” you want.

Well presented here. The power to overcome any obstacle is within ourselves and the moment one realizes that,No can never be taken for an answer. Let's not allow fear to dominate our minds at an stage. The miracle is within you. #believethat
