I have a tradition for most of my guests on my TV show it is an activity that involves them breaking their coconut which comes as a gift from me to them. You see the goal goes beyond breaking the coconut the big idea is in the questions that come with the awareness of who we are and how we overcome our odds which is symbiotic with a coconut story
In early 2024, the use of media to shape industry perspectives was predicted to be significant. Now, mid-year, we’ve seen the rise of podcasts, series, and influential voices shaping thoughts for the next generation. Our focus in the media space is to be a voice of reason with career and personal development content, serving as a masterclass for business owners and thought leaders globally.
Our new series, shot in the United Kingdom, features Nigerians who own businesses in the new world and those involved in the Brain Circulation conversation. A few years ago, we started hearing about "JAPA," slang in the Nigerian space meaning to travel out for greener pastures, often seen as brain drain. However, with more experts travelling out, we see it as Brain Circulation—the circular movement of skilled labour across nations.
This is different from brain drain, which describes skilled labour emigrating in search of better opportunities.
During the shooting of these episodes, japa series we let main characters globally of Nigerian and African descent share their impact lessons and how they continuously learn and make a difference in the global workspace. The challenges I faced shooting in a different location would make another post on its own, but this is my way of saying thank you to everyone who helped—from guests who travelled from various cities to support the work we do at BTC, to the production team I worked with for the first time. Thank you for trusting that your efforts would help us continue our mission.
We have two responsibilities for our 1000 subscribers: first, we ask you to subscribe to our YouTube page Break a coconut here share our work to help us continue improving. Second, we are open to collaboration and feedback. Don't be a stranger—shoot us an email at [email protected].
Your support is greatly appreciated Dont me a stranger. Break a coconut here
