DON'T Start A Podcast, Do This Instead...

Hey there, Thought Leaders!

Ever heard of an MVP?

No, not the Most Valuable Player in sports, or a Minimum Viable Product either.

Think of an MVP as a Minimum Viable Podcast.

Similar to an MVP in the product marketing/development world.

It's almost a pilot that tests the waters to see if your audience wants it, if it's a good fit for the market, and if it's feasible for your team.

It's like testing a TV show with a pilot episode before committing to a full season.

?? Benefits of MVP Podcasting:

  1. Lower Risk, Higher Reward: Launching an MVP podcast allows you to test the waters with minimal investment, reducing the risk while potentially reaping high rewards.
  2. Audience Validation: Get valuable feedback from your audience early on, helping you tailor future episodes to their preferences and needs.
  3. Iterative Improvement: Use the feedback loop from your MVP to continuously iterate and improve your podcast, ensuring it evolves with your audience's interests.

?? Building Your MVP Podcast:

  1. Know Your Audience: Identify your target audience and speak their language to ensure your podcast resonates with them.
  2. Define Your Goals: Determine the purpose of your podcast – whether it's to build brand awareness, generate leads, or establish thought leadership.
  3. Plan Your Content: Develop a content plan and format for your podcast, keeping it aligned with your goals and audience preferences.
  4. Keep it Simple: Don't overcomplicate things – focus on creating valuable content without investing in expensive equipment or elaborate setups.
  5. Promote and Launch: Build anticipation by promoting your podcast before its launch, and don't forget to engage your audience across various platforms.
  6. Gather Feedback and Iterate: Listen to your audience's feedback and use it to refine and improve your podcast with each episode.

Oooo this is such a great idea Jonathan Reid! Wish I'd have thought about this when starting my podcast, would have made things so much easier and eliminated any fear of failure I had!

A good podcast is always a lot of work but if it is your passion it doesn't feel like work. Doing a just testing podcast is "never" going to work. only if you are a well known person. A podcast needs to have a minimum of 10 episodes to test the waters.. in my opinion. The podcast will work if you are invested again passion en just love wat your doing. People see that and will listen. ps. I love podcasting an talking about tech. :)
