Don’t Start Exercising Until You Do This!

Exercise, believe it or not, is not the only thing we need to help us lose weight.?


We need to get to the root cause of what's causing the weight. It's not the lack of exercise that's causing the weight. Because when we start to dig deep as to the reasons why it is usually related to poor dietary choices and habits.?


These are all factors that are contributing to your excess weight. Unless we take those factors causing the excess weight away first, exercise doesn't matter.?


If we're still doing those things, we're still eating too much, drinking too much and then we're exercising, you're still not going to get the results that you want from a weight loss perspective.

Exercise is great for your health. If you're doing cardio exercise, you're going to be working your cardiovascular system, which is your heart and your lungs, and you're going to be fitter, which is good for your health.?


You need to be doing it consistently and long term for it to have a significant effect.

If you're doing weight training, it's good for muscle strength and bone strength. This also needs to be done consistently and long term, otherwise you won’t see the benefits.

?

But if you start to lose motivation or you don’t make time for that exercise, you’re not going to be able to get to your healthy weight either.

?

When you exercise, your metabolism increases and you get more hungry, because what you're doing is you're burning more calories. So your body's saying I need some food. What can happen is because you're getting more hungry, you tend to fill that hunger with more food. So all the calories that you've burned in that exercise workout, you just fill it up again with the food that you've eaten. We know that with weight loss, the formula is calories in need to be less than calories out.?

So if we're eating more calories, because we're exercising ?and we're more hungry, we're filling that void of calories and we're not losing weight as well. That could be a reason some people aren't getting results. That could be a reason some people are plateauing because they're doing more exercise but they're getting more hungry, so they're just bumping their calories back up.

If you're exercising, what you need to do is just hover below that calorie requirement that your body needs so that you're losing weight. Because what happens when you're eating fewer calories than you need??


Your body needs to get that energy from somewhere.?


Where do we store our energy?


In our bellies, where we predominantly store fat. It's not easy for our body to burn fat because fats are not your preferred store of energy. Your preferred source of energy is glycogen for the body because it is converted more efficiently.?

It all takes time and effort. But we don't look for rapid weight loss solutions. We're looking for long-term solutions. This includes your daily health habits. They need to be aligned and optimised to set the foundation of a healthy weight.

?

You can't out-exercise a bad diet. Have you heard that quote before? It means you can have the best exercise regime, but then a bad diet and you're not going to see results.?


But what's one thing that doesn't require effort that we need to do to survive??


Eat and drink. We're forced to do that because our bodies need that to survive. So if we can control and take care of those two things, then it'll build that foundation that we need to lose that Dad fat that we want to lose now and for good.
