A Client Services team.... without one, it will be nearly impossible for you to build the relationships, the partnerships, the loyalty that will allow you to identify the opportunities and drive the growth in the accounts.
Carrie Rose founder of Rise at Seven | Search-First Creative Agency wrote a fascinating article which you can read here where she openly admits to not seeing the value in needing a CS team, but now holds up her hands and admits that she was wrong.
But she had the fortitude to accept her mistake and right her wrongs and her agency is thriving even more by doing so.

Are your team skilled enough to summon client growth from the shadows?
Unfortunately it seems to be a common theme I keep hearing amongst agency owners that their CS teams are lacking in the skills to be able to grow their clients.
If you dig deeper, I think you would find it is actually a mixture of missing skill sets, but also a lack of time and haunting lack of desire. (A different issue to address)
I now run Account Director Training Programmes to support Senior Account Manager transitioning to an AD role and Account Director in roles to ensure that they have the tools, knowledge, frameworks and templates to not only fully understand their role, but to excel and drive growth in your agency.
