Have you ever tried to board a plane but missed the first two steps or the second step?
Well you might have or might not have??♀?
Whichever category you belong to, I want to show you something.
Before I go on, My love letter?? today is specially meant to reveal to you the reason why you are not getting that opportunity or attracting those clients you want to attract. So you can skip today's letter if you don't vibe with this. But if you know that you are in a season when you need this, better read till the end.
Now back to the story??
If you're like me who loves jumping staircases when climbing them, you might have missed the second step couple of times.
But here's the thing,
You will notice that whenever you try to jump some steps and you land on the third step, you won't be as balanced as when you went through the first, second, and then third steps accordingly. Especially if it's a plane's staircase, you'll do yourself and your legs good by walking carefully/majestically as you climb.
If you don't you'll notice that you will stagger or you might even fall in some cases.
Now, How Does This Concern You???
The journey of getting clients, jobs, or opportunities, whether global or regional is like climbing a plane's staircase. In this journey, there are three steps.
As we speak,
most of the people who are meant to patronise you or give you your next big opportunity might simply just know you (brand awareness) but you haven't nurtured them to trust you yet.
??This is very vital before they can convert to your clients.
The problem with most people is that they feel very entitled to the conversion step on the staircase, even at the earliest stages of Brand awareness (staircase 1). This is why you show up on Linkedin or any other platform for maybe 10 days or even less and then you get angry when you see the opportunities aren't coming your way.
If you were the buyer would you patronise yourself?
Elon Musk was able to raise millions of dollars from selling perfumes. Not necessarily because he has the best perfume scent the world knows, but just because of the person behind the product- "Elon Musk". Even as you put in your best to sell your product or service, be rest assured that people will buy your personal brand first.
The next time you see that you aren't getting the opportunities, clients, or buyers that you want, ask yourself this

Have I nurtured the people who know me and convinced them with enough reason to trust me?
And you can simply do this by showing them thought leadership content. Share tips on the problem you want to solve for them, share testimonials, share your certifications, and courses you took in that field. Speak about conferences you attended, and where you spoke.
It might sound cliche but it actually WORKS. This is exactly what we do in my 20 Days Linkedin Consistency, Growth and Monetisation Challenge.
Remember This:
??No one is just sitting around and planning to spend their money on your service. It almost never happens! You need to CONVINCE US! We might know you and what you do but you haven't convinced us enough to put you in our monthly budget.
And just like you might stagger or even fall when you jump the first two steps of a plane, its the same way with your conversion process. Even if you get that opportunity without building a credible brand, you might stagger in it, so build well.
As you board your plane to fly (ie soar in your career and business) remain consistent in building a credible brand that you personally can buy from, if you were on the buying side.
The truth is, most of us won't buy from ourselves if we were on the buying side. And it's not such a big deal; the brand isn't quite convincing enough yet. This is the strategy I always use to keep improving myself despite any past successes.

I specially wrote this letter for you if you have been hoping to get a particular opportunity, job, or client but haven't been able to. It's time to get back to the branding and nurturing mode. Proof to them why they should trust you!
