Don't settle..

Don't settle..

Imagine you’re selling your house.

The sale’s all agreed, you’ve spent weeks packing everything up, you’ve found your new dream home.

You’re all set.

But then, on moving day you get a call from your lawyer:?

“We’ve got a bit of a problem”

The panic starts to set in. “What problem? I thought it was all good to go”

“Well, it was. But 5 minutes ago the guy buying your house changed his mind. He only wants to give you half the money that was agreed”

“WHAT? He can’t do that! He can’t seriously expect I’ll settle for half the cash we’d agreed on?”

“I’m afraid he can and he does. He’s saying that if you don't accept this offer the deal’s off”

Nightmare.

You might even have been in a similar situation at some point. It’s gone from what was going to be a brilliant day to pretty much a complete wash out.

You’ve now got a choice.

You either settle for the ridiculously low offer. Or you tell him where to go. Then have to start the whole process all over again.

Except it’s not really a choice at all is it?

No matter how much hassle and disappointment it causes you to pull out of the sale, you’re just not going to settle for less than the house is worth. And definitely not for half of what was agreed.

So you tell him where to go.

But here's the question:

If you’re not prepared to settle for this kind of thing, why do you settle when it comes to the really important stuff??

Like your family.

Your work.

Your fun and play time.

Your happiness.

Your freedom.

Your performance in all that you do.

The life YOU want – the life you wouldn’t trade for anything.

Because there’s a good chance you “settle” when it comes to those things every day. You might not think you do. You might want to tell me that you don’t.

But I’d be prepared to bet, that on some level, you do.

By not being 100% present with your loved ones

By doing work you’re probably good at but not passionate about

By spending virtually zero time doing the things that make you happy

By not doing EXACTLY what you want, when you want, how you want, and with whom you want

You’re settling for less than the best. You’re settling for less than you want.

You’re settling for less than YOU deserve.

You’re settling for FAR less than is available.?Far less than you’re capable of.

What if I could show you why, what and how you can get what you want – all of it

Without compromising/risking what you’ve worked so hard for?

What if I could show you how others - driven and successful men that didn’t have exactly what they wanted - got what they wanted?

Well known sporting superstars, like Tom Brady, Usain Bolt and Novak Djokovic, credit visualisation as being instrumental in their success.?

?So, this weekend, I want you to take some time to visualise what you want your life to look like.?Be specific, go granular…get clear on all the various elements – work, home, play etc.

Then pick one element, the one that feels the most important to you right now, and write down some actions (bearing in mind it won’t happen overnight ) you can take to bring that imagined outcome closer to you.

This is how you start to create change. The change from a good life you’ve settled for, to a simply amazing life you wouldn’t trade?for anything,

On that note, almost ALL peak performers, those at the top of the game or on the way there, have help.?

They have a mentor, a coach, an advisor or a collection of all 3.

It’s often their secret sauce, it’s how they get the most out of themselves. It’s how they become who they want to be AND live the life they wouldn’t trade for anything,

Which leads me to this

I’ve not done this before, and probably won’t do it again here, but I’ve got something for you on Monday…
