Don't run before you can walk

Lots of people are concerned about growing their businesses. Admirable and ambitious. But without the correct foundations you are heading for more stress and more issues.

More unmotivated staff

More complaints

More unhappy customers

More people leaving you

Believe me I know!! I was concerned about growth and acquisitions far too much at one point.

That changed when I became sick of dealing with the same issues time and time again.

We systemised the business, hired better staff, understood KPIs and management and things got so much easier.

Getting business on is honestly as simple as it can be, it's not hard. Keeping it is the hard part.

Get the foundations right BEFORE you grow, get the right staff, best systems, management and leadership structures.

Don't rush it. Don't act too soon, don't focus on growth.

Focus on building a great business first. Not saying you can't grow and build but a lot of people I talk to have the same issues.

That of staff, lack of training and development, lack of systems and management and go through the same pain cycle I.e. dealing with crap that could be avoided.

Don't go for the shiny penny syndrome of grow grow grow.

Build a sustainable business first
