Don't reinvent the wheel.

Don't reinvent the wheel.

In the past few weeks, I connected with a few of my old friends, connections who are entrepreneurs, YouTubers and business personnel. There were a few books that they suggested to me. But, likely the majority of business books I've read discuss "reinventing the wheel" and advise against doing it. In this sense, it refers to adapting a concept slightly and passing it off as your own. Reinventing the wheel isn't always a negative thing, according to numerous business owners I spoke with; it all depends on how you read the phrase.

Did Uber create the taxi industry? Has Amazon created books? Has Apple created any software? Of fact, none of them created the sector in which they currently play a prominent role. Uber first made calling the dispatcher to get a taxi easier than using the app. This was always going to be a smart move in a time when people talk to one another less. It is more practical to tap on an app than to dial a number.?

Today's billion-dollar businesses used an existing concept to completely transform an industry. This is in a market that you could have assumed was saturated. If they had attempted to build a business around it, the majority of people would have struggled to find a method to completely transform the taxi industry and would have given up.

Spotify is a prime illustration of how some people in today's society get so successful simply by making something that already exists simpler to access. If you are constantly trying to avoid recreating the wheel as an entrepreneur, you can miss an opportunity or a gap.

When thinking companies like Amazon, took a product or service and made it available to a larger market. They transformed the market by making goods or services much more accessible. After a long day or a hectic weekend, ordering a thing from Amazon is much simpler than getting out and physically looking for it. There are numerous ways to attempt to automate how we conduct our lives. The same factor that makes health food packages and other postal delivery companies successful. Home automation is becoming more widespread and well-liked. We have reached the point when your house will be able to order supplies when they run low.

Due to their success, corporations like Google and Amazon are now venture capital firms. Ring, a unicorn that Amazon recently paid over a billion dollars for, illustrates this.?

This could be construed as stealing an idea, which is unacceptable. Making an existing service or product more accessible seems to be a popular practice. In contrast to the actual world, where high-end trades may be where the money is, doing this online or through an app sounds lucrative.

Watch how you interpret "reinventing the wheel." If you focus too much on avoiding doing it, you risk missing a chance to completely transform a sector of the economy. Even if you believe the market has been completely saturated, keep an eye out for a gap. Take a concept and make it your own, then promote it to your target market. Keep an open mind to innovations and improvements.
