DON'T BE THE ONE WHO HESITATES
I wanted to share an email I received recently from one of my participants. It demonstrates how critical new business development is to one's success. And if you hesitate or procrastinate or think it's a waste of time, you may miss out on something amazing like this:
"I just wanted to let you know about a success that I had after the Gehegan training in September in Bloomington. Before the training I really did not like making outbound calls. I was one of those people that would dial the number and before I dialed the last number I would hang up and think about the call and dial again and hang up. After doing the training with Chris he instilled confidence to make the calls.
Below is what happened when I made a call to one of the prospects on my list.
I made one of my calls to set up an appointment to discuss our business campaign and they were very happy that I had called because they really wanted to move some money to us. At first they told me that they were figuring $50,000-$60,000. We set up an appointment for me to go meet with them the following week.
When I got to their office to meet with them they weren’t necessarily interested in talking about their business, as much as they were that they had received a post card for a CD special we had going on with the consumer banking side. After talking to them some more they were actually thinking about moving about $500,000-$600,000 to us from another bank down the street!# I immediately discussed with them that I thought talking to our Wealth Management Rep would be a great option for them. We set up an appointment with our advisor and they were very happy to hear about what he could do with them. When that appointment was over we were discussing with them about moving over a million dollars in cash as well as investments to us through our Wealth Management division. We also talked about doing some succession planning for when they want to retire as well as some other products and services that Wealth Management could provide.
They mentioned in our conversation that they were happy we had called them because they have had all this money sitting at another bank down the street and they haven’t received a phone call from them in years. They were very happy to know that we were here to help them and look out for them.
I just wanted to let you know the success that I had and that I am so happy I went to Gehegan training and how much confidence it really did give me. I do think this training is valuable to all employees at our bank!
