There have been 14 new features, 17 updates and 1 feature retired in 2024. Yup, not a typo, in 2024! (2023: 169 new features, 33 updates, 18 features retired) Huge thank you to Kevin D. Turner for keeping track, reporting, explaining and giving credit to people who spot changes.

You’ll see posts telling you how to get prepared. How to adapt. Do this to be ahead of your competitors. Do that to please the algorithm.
But when your organic LinkedIn content marketing strategy is solid, most changes won’t impact your ROI. Relax…
?? Your visibility as thought leader keeps steadily increasing
?? Conversations in comments keep converting to leads
?? Your profile views keep getting more relevant
?? Your posts keep getting more engagement
?? People keep tagging you as an expert
What is a solid organic LinkedIn content marketing strategy?
1?? The KEY thing that makes it solid is that the strategy must be doable and fun for you.
? It is the only way to stick to it. And sticking to it is what gives all those results.
Post 5 times a week, comment 10 times a day, send 5 DMs a day, invite 50 people a week…
Great, if you have the time, inspiration and drive to do so. It’ll definitely move the needle for you.
? Now rewrite those numbers to realistic ones for you.
2?? Get crystal clear on what the world needs to know and remember about you.

That’ll sort itself out organically. They removed profile videos on Dec 14, 2023. Leading up to it SNLT (Shiny New LinkedIn Tactics) preachers told you to upload it to your featured section. Quick, quick…
Why would you do that? ????
Yes the profile video was great. But it was great as a “profile video” when people could whack you on the head when scrolling their feed and the video started playing.
Your featured section is prime real estate for your main call to action this ‘may’ be a short video for you, but image + text is way more direct for your CTA.

And you know what?
When changes are important enough to adept to, this becomes clear over time. Sit back, watch others suffer SNLT (shiny new LinkedIn tactics) syndrome and see how it pans out.
The new thing may be canned before it’s even rolled out to all (pinned comments, carousel).
The new thing might lead to a different change in tactics then all SNLT preachers initially recommended.
By the time something is clearly here to stay best practices have been developed by trial and error by lots of SNLT syndrome sufferers and a handful of brilliant strategists.
?? Now all you have to do is implement those best practises that have been tried and tested when you relaxed with a cuppa tea! ??
