Don't Miss this Job Fair Opportunity

In today's email, I've highlighted a seminar taking place this week, a job fair opportunity, and I've shared information about GMG's $155,000 grant award under the Drive for Five Program. We look forward to using that award in partnership with the South Central Workforce Council & MinnPoly (Minnesota's only PolyTechnic Institute - a part of Minnesota State University, Mankato ) to help your organizations meet your workforce needs.

Mankato Job Fair: April 27

Greater Mankato Growth is excited to again partner with Radio Mankato as they host another Mankato Job Fair on Saturday, April 27th from 9am-1pm. Held on Saturday, this job fair is a great way to get in front of candidates who may already be working full time jobs during the week.

Radio Mankato offers multiple participation options ranging from just a booth to options that come packaged with radio ads. You can learn more at www.MankatoJobFair.com or by contacting Brett Prescher at [email protected].?

Do you love Greater Mankato and love to tell others what a great place this is? I am seeking 3-5 volunteers to join me at the Greater Mankato Growth booth. GMG hosts a booth at the entrance to the job fair where we share visitor materials and talk to visitors and new residents about all the great things to do in town. Whether someone is considering a move, a college student who isn't sure if they'll stay, or a long-term resident who still hasn't explored everything the city has to offer, we want to make sure that they establish a career here.

Drive for Five Grant Program - Greater Mankato Growth Inc, South Central Workforce Council, MinnPoly Receive Grant Awards

South Central Workforce Council & MinnPoly both received awards under the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development's Drive for Five program. Through this, South Central Workforce Council will be offering training to individuals in the fields of technology, labor/trades, caring professions, manufacturing, and education. MinnPoly will be offering training focused on electronic manufacturing.

Greater Mankato Growth received a $155,000 award under a separate component of that grant. We will be helping South Central Workforce Council & MinnPoly by providing connections between employers and the individuals being trained under these programs. Look forward to more outreach from us as we work to make these connections.

In addition, Greater Mankato Growth received awards for employer training that can equip our employers to hire and retain staff in an increasingly diverse community. Learn more about this grant from our press release linked below:
