2023 Judging Panel
Our judges are experts in their field, with years of experience and knowledge of the wine industry. They use a unique judging process that takes into account Food Parability, Typicity, Value, Quality, and Package to determine the final Sommeliers Choice Awards Score.
We're excited to share with you'all that Scott Barber MS joins the 2023 Sommeliers Choice Awards panel. He is a Master Sommelier from the Class Of 2018. From being a wine educator to now a sales director, he has a career graph directly proportional to his love for wine.
He specializes in finding the right tone from novice consumers to top-level sommeliers. He currently represents boutique producers in Napa, Sonoma, and Europe at the distributor level, building brands, and increasing sales.
Costello is a Master Sommelier by the American Chapter of the Court of Master Sommeliers. He is passionately interested in the “modern” California movement where many of the producers are focusing on lower alcohol, lower oak, and generally fresh or fruit in their wines.
He specializes in finding the right tone from novice consumers to top-level sommeliers. He currently represents boutique producers in Napa, Sonoma, and Europe at the distributor level, building brands, and increasing sales.
Costello has competed in numerous wine-related competitions including The Court of Master Sommelier’s TOP/Somm, The Chaine des Rotisseurs “Young Somm Competition,” the Ruinart Champagne Challenge and was named one of Wine & Spirits Magazine’s “Top New Sommeliers 2013.

A Master sommelier from the class of 2018. He recently relocated to San Francisco after 10 years in New York City's wine bar and high-end fine dining scene.
Harris is currently working with Saison Hospitality as the Sommelier. Before that he used to freelance for F&B marketing and communications as well as private cellar management. With close to 15 years of hospitality experience, mostly spent in Michelin-starred venues, he brings a well-trained eye to any service environment.

Scott is currently working with Winebow as a sales consultant. He has an extensive experience as Sommelier at The Restaurant at Meadowood. Before that, he was working at Solage Calistoga and the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia for more than four years each! He has carved long-term relationships and an appreciation for salesmanship!
?Jeremy has an unwavering commitment to the art of wine. He became an Advanced Sommelier in 2017 from the Court of Master Sommeliers and earned his Master Sommelier Diploma in 2021. He recently started his new role as wine director for the multi-concept building ONE65 in San Francisco.
Jeremy Broto holds over a decade of experience in the wine industry. He began his journey in 2005 in the southwest of France studying hospitality management. He traveled to France, the U.K., Ireland, Switzerland, San Francisco, Palm Beach, and New York to expand his knowledge at many Michelin-Star Restaurants, a world traveler! During his career, has been fortunate to work for renowned chefs, including Patrick Guilbaud, Philippe Rochat, Gary Danko, Anne-Sophie Pic, Daniel Boulud, and Claude Le Tohic.
