Don't misalign sales and marketing.
Selling is the short game and you are asking somebody to do something.
Attend an event, get on a call, buy your product or service.
Marketing is the long game and it's "see me."
You cannot have one without the other, they support each other. Marketing in particular builds warm and fuzzy as you are going for the ask.
A cold ask is a surefire way to get dunked on. Build rapport with your marketing.
