I just finished a mastermind/coaching call with some of the Inner Circle members and the conversation was focused on something incredibly important, inspired by the concept of the "Wallflower Factor."
The term "wallflower" might sound old-fashioned, but it perfectly describes what we don't want to be in our marketing efforts. A wallflower is someone who blends into the background, goes unnoticed, and is forgotten by everyone at the party. You don’t want to be that person, and you definitely don’t want your business to be that way either.
Think about it – after a party, people might say, “Was SHE here? Really? I never noticed her.” The exact opposite of a wallflower is someone like Lady Gaga. Now, I'm not saying you need to be as extreme as Lady Gaga, but you do need to stand out.
The same applies to your marketing
Here's the deal: most direct-mail campaigns are dull and cheap. It's what I call a gigantic FALSE bargain. Sure, sending a plain postcard with a generic image is cheaper than a flashy, creative mailer. But if you think that means you’re saving money, you're missing the point of marketing entirely.
Let's get real – mailing out a cheap postcard is like sending a wallflower to the dance. It's destined for zero impact. You might as well have flushed that marketing budget down the drain. Instead, what you want is to make a lasting impression. Think of it like sending a limo instead of a cab. Sure, it's a bit more of an investment, but the impact is unforgettable.
So here’s the GOLD-GETTING RULE I want you to write down and plaster everywhere you can see it:
