This year has been hands down the toughest of my life. From onset, to this day, it has been one kick in the nuts after another. Just as we learn from our mistakes though, we should also learn from our misfortune. This year taught me that life is precious. Life is fragile. Sadly enough, life is also short, and none of us never know when our time is up. As we go through life, we will have our ups and downs. We will say things we probably shouldn’t say. Life can be gruelling and time consuming. Just making ends meet. Don’t let pride get in the way.
None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. We all fall short from time to time. We are human. We get angry. We say things we shouldn’t say. We do things we shouldn’t do. Sometimes those things damage our relationships with people who are very important to us. While I believe there is no fault in making these mistakes, there is fault in not owning up to them and not learning from them. When a bone breaks and heals properly, it is actually stronger than it was before it was broken. Our personal relationships…be it with our families, our friends, or even ourselves….are much the same. Don’t let pride get in the way of that.
Admit your faults, own up to them and resolve them. Maybe most importantly, forgive. Life is too short to hold grudges, and forgiveness is more self-healing than anything else. It will give you peace of mind and improve all of your relationships, including your relationship with yourself. We can’t control the actions of others, but we can control ours. There’s nothing wrong with swallowing our pride and admitting we were wrong and that we fell short.
You only get one life to live. and the family you were born into. Make the most of it. Enjoy life together. Make time for one another, and be at peace. Let go of your pride, and I assure you, a lot of your stresses and burdens will go with it.
Om Namah Shivay!
