Don't Major In The Minor Things

Today is Saturday.
I woke up at 7AM and realized...I had not set-up a Saturday Note to go out today!
This is the first time I missed the deadline since I started!
Why?
It turns?out the reason is simple, and I bet many of you can relate.
My Time Management system has collapsed!?
Jim Rohn was one of my favorite professional development speakers when I started my own business a decade ago. I was turned on to him after learning that my late grandfather was a fan of his work.?
In reflecting on my schedule the past several months it is clear something needs to change.?
Looking over some of my old notes on time management I found these quotes from Jim Rohn and I wanted to share them with you this weekend.

6 个月I've always liked Jim Rohn with his "you're the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with." This one stands out to me: "Don’t mistake movement for achievement. It’s easy to get faked out by being busy. The question is: Busy doing what?" Great question to ask yourself. E.g. being busy answering emails all day isn't achievement. It may masquerade as movement. How I avoid busy-ness: -Close excess tabs and put on Apple Focus mode most of the work day. -Keep in mind that my inbox is no one's to-do list and that immediate replies are rarely necessary. -Batch respond to most texts and emails in a block. Especially for texts on weekdays. -Most calls or meetings can happen in half the time we block. -Track my time by which business and which task type. Review the summary every month-end. See where my hours really went. <-- This has been eye-opening. I balked at doing this initially because I'm not a Generator (#humandesign) or a barista, but it HAS helped. Over time you'll see ROI of time spent. Nice Note Jay Coulter, CFP?, CIMA?
