Don’t let your customers forget you!

Can you remember the last time you went to a grocery shop to buy toothpaste?

Didn’t you ask for a Colgate??

Here you actually meant to buy a toothpaste but ended up asking with the brand's name instead of the thing itself.?We often come across such incidents in our day-to-day life where a brand has become synonymous with the thing.?

Like Dairy milk for Cadbury,?Nirma for washing powder, parle g for biscuits, etc. Isn't it??

?So here to my next question:?

What do you think about how your customers remember your brand??

Probably in more varied ways than you think.?Right from visuals to the actual experience and also to the aftersales correspondence they had with your product.?They remember every minute detail not just in terms of price, quality, and quantity?I.e?numerically but also how you made them feel at every point of their interaction with your brand.?

This feeling over time helps to build a perception about your brand which can be extremely positive, neutral, or extremely negative.?Next, this perception decides the fate of your brand as the customer makes the decision of coming back to you depending on what he personally thinks about you.?

What actually is a brand??

A brand is a name, symbol, or color related to a product that distinguishes your product from others.?

In shorter connotation, we can implicitly say that brand is an identity of a company, product, or individual.?

But only creating a brand is not enough. It is extremely necessary to connect with your customers at their personal level.?Why??

Because a brand doesn’t live in a physical world?I.e?it doesn’t live in a particular place;?

It doesn’t live in the digital world;?

It doesn’t live on a website or any social page but?

?A brand lives only in the minds of your customers!?

And what is the gateway to your customer's mind??

The same relates to branding. Branding is a process of creating a positive perception about your company or product in the minds of your customer.?So branding is our effort in order to create the desired outcome and brand association is the outcome of it. Thus branding is a precursor of brand association.??

And Brand association in simpler terms can be said as an image, emotion, or concept linked to the brand via memory. In other words, how your customer remembers you is a brand association and that has to be positive always. Because a brand association can either make a brand or break a brand.?

It may also include the overall appearance, labeling as well as packaging of your product. It is the most important factor as it is the?first thing that a customer comes to know about you even before making a purchase.?

2] Brand message:?

This is the space where you get a chance to communicate the actual idea or motto behind your?brand. You need to communicate the unique value proposition that makes your customer come to you.?

3] Personification:

You should be able to relate your brand to the life of your customer.?Actually, we think?that a product is designed in order to fulfill the want?of an individual so it's of utmost necessity for an individual to remember your product when he needs to satisfy his particular want, and then only we can say that all our efforts were fruitful.?

4]Constant customer engagement:?

As the title says do not let your customers forget you, it is mandatory to constantly communicate with your customer in one or many ways. It may include advertisements, promotional or nurturing emails and messaging, or just a feedback interaction. You should be continuously hitting the customer's senses by not letting them forget you.?

A brand association often leads to influence the buying decision of your customer. It is the positive association of customers with your brand which compels them to purchase again and again from you. This, in turn, results in customer loyalty, and ultimately people start associating your brand with the thing itself.?

Brands like Colgate, Dairy milk, and Nirma have succeeded in?building a small place in the life of their customer. And how did they do this??

By being constant in their efforts of delivering innovative products that would satisfy all customer dimensions.??

Thus every single thing that you neglect in relation to your brand affects your association with your customers in a negative way.?

In short, be successful in?not letting your customer forget you!?
