"Don't let success get to your head. Don't let failure get to your heart."
Thanks for reading. This is the 64th edition.
We will have successes. We will have failures. They both are inevitable and it's all about your reaction to them.
I love to talk about staying neutral. I first heard this from renowned sports psychologist, Trevor Moawad. (Look him up, he had some great insights around how to sustain excellence as an athlete and in life in general.)
Whether on the athletic field, in the office or at home - staying neutral is something I always try to emulate. Never getting too high with wins and never getting too low with losses. It's about reacting similarly to both.
You have to act like you've been there before when you score a game winning goal and about not letting yourself get so affected when your team loses a big game.
Unlike sports, most of our ups and downs don't have a scoreboard anyway - and it's not how you start, it's how you continue. If you let emotions get the best of you, it'll be harder to steady the path.
Control what you can control - which is the work, effort and reaction to circumstance.

Stay Neutral. Don't fight emotion - be aware of the emotion.
Enjoy the moment or hate the moment, but don't let it define you.
This moment will change at any moment and the emotional swing between wins and losses can be detrimental if you let it.
The path to the top is not a straight line. It's filled with up's and downs. And win or lose, you can't let it derail the path you've started. It's about how you continue through.
If you keep your head down and you don't miss a day, the ups have to outweigh the downs. It's science!
If you can stay aware of emotions and equally balanced, the up and down swings and your ride through the bumps of life will feel much smoother.
