Don't Let There Be a Next Time

What you are expecting to happen will not happen. That's one of the biggest lessons for me from the last few years, and the last weeks in particular.
You can't control or predict what will actually happen - and that has put us all in a constant reacting state. And some things are so overwhelmingly traumatic and all encompassing it puts the rest of what we've done in a proper perspective. But how we react is all based on the foundation of who we are, our empathy, our care, our strength, our resiliency.
The needs and demands are enormous, in so many areas and on all fronts. Our capacity and capability for good must far exceed the level of viciousness and evil that is responsible for this war. The task is tall but the resources and the infrastructure to rebuild, replant, renew, and recover are here. We are here and every day our task is to show that we are surviving and thriving.
The actions we all should take is to show how human we are, how much we can lift each other up and support one another, and resolve to never again let our actions be determined by those with evil in their hearts because, unfortunately, that brings out the worst in ourselves as well. We have to fight against that too.
As we watch events outside our scope of control take shape and develop, we need to focus on ourselves, our family's our careers and our businesses. We need to take actions that will help one another and help ourselves. We need more awareness on the importance of our health situations.

If I am not for me, who will be for me?
And when I am for myself alone, what am I?
The situation we are in, with an aging population is one we cannot ignore. It impacts every one of us at some level, no matter how much wealth we accumulate, we do not control the effects of time or all aspects of health that guard and protect our ability to earn, accumulate and enjoy that wealth.
If not now, then when?
Don't wait till it's too late for our actions and reactions to have the maximum impact. This is the reality we all have to balance and decide what's within our personal bandwidth and capability to handle. I have to believe we we can act before we have to react and recover to rebuild and replant - next time it may be just too late. Don't let there be a next time, never, ever again.

1 年I totally agree. What you think will happen never does. In a way that calms because - “just let it go,” right?
