Don’t let inexperience devalue talent.

Skills shortages, advancements with technology and succession planning are all reasons that amplify the call for enabling and encouraging new talent into the construction industry. The importance of having young workers and ambitious talent who want to progress in our sector is a subject I feel very strongly about. It's all too easy for businesses in to complain that there is not enough new blood coming through. We all have a critical role to play and by working together we can do something about it.

E. Tupling take great pride in providing opportunities for people to work in our talented team and enter what is a dynamic and fulfilling industry. Furthermore, we offer progression across all departments in our business. Including but not exclusive to Warehousing, Logistics & Transport, Customer Services, Marketing, Finance and Accounts. We have taken great pride in promoting a number of high-performing staff members in the last few months:

From Librarian to Customer Services Coordinator to Business Development Manager to Head of Sales in only 3 years. Duane has enjoyed a meteoric rise with E. Tupling due to his ever-expanding product expertise, natural flair for business development and most importantly unrivalled rapport with our customers.

Current Position: Marketing Coordinator

Kasey joined E. Tupling as a Customer Service Coordinator from American Golf. In just over 12 months she was the stand-out candidate for managing all of our Marketing activities from the beginning of April 24. Her passion for all-things marketing and creative design and has given our communications and point of sale fresh impetus already. Kasey starts her Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship in June.

Name (age): Georgia A. (21)

Started with E. Tupling: March 2023

Initial Position: Customer Services Coordinator

Current Position: Area Sales Representative

Georgia also joined E. Tupling as a Customer Service Coordinator from American Golf. She built relationships with our merchant partners extremely quickly. Her attention to detail, boundless energy, infectious personality and product knowledge are traits that we believe lend themselves very well to an external Field Sales Role. Georgia takes on this position from the beginning of July, at the same as her Level 4 Sales Professional Apprenticeship commences.

Name (age): Matthew Nugent (20)

Started with E. Tupling: February 2022

Initial Position: Warehouse Coordinator Apprentice

Current Position: Junior Underfloor Heating (UFH) Consultant

Matthew successfully achieved his warehouse operative apprenticeship with us last year and is now a fully-fledged member of our Underfloor Heating sales team! During his time in the warehouse Matthew demonstrated a real appetite for understanding product, both functionally and technically, a trait that lends itself very well to his new Junior UFH Consultant position.

I passionately believe we have a duty to create apprenticeship opportunities and provide a platform to all team members to continually develop their careers with us. To start, or actively support, a career is something I personally take great pride in and this is engrained through the values of our company. E. Tupling are wholeheartedly invested in encouraging and nurturing talent for the sector we proudly serve. In Duane’s case the rapid journey from managing a Library to heading up sales for a Plumbing & Heating distributor is nothing short of remarkable. Quite the career change and it demonstrates that, with open minds and encouragement, anything is possible in an industry full of potential and reward.
