Don't let Facebook decide what you see on your Facebook page
Facebook has two settings for your news feed:
1. Top Stories: That means a Facebook algorithm decides what you "want" to see first.
2. Most Recent: You get the most recent news first.
I prefer the most recent news because I want to decide what is important to me - not Facebook.
Settings not permanently
If you think the same way, you can change these options on the left sidebar under the "News Feed" option, but these changes are not permanently. Everytime you open Facebook (on a browser, desktop version) - Facebook will automatically change your settings back to "Top Stories".
Set your settings permanently
To be sure to see the most recent news first, change your bookmark into: https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr
This will open facebook everytime with the news feed setting "most recent".
