Don't let Covid-19 impact on your business.

Don't let Covid-19 impact on your business.

It would appear we may well be on the verge of a pandemic that could have not only a huge impact on human health but also on the sustainability of our businesses.

We have already sadly seen the impact it has had on Flybe and no doubt there will be more to follow in due course. A crash in the price of oil has sent shock waves through global markets today, with the FTSE 100 suffering its worst drop since the financial crisis.

Now is the time to take precautions that although may seem above and beyond what is required could be the strategic move needed to reduce the spread and impact of this currently incurable strain of Corona virus.

Many businesses may fear the financial impact of advising staff to stay at home or to self-isolate if they have experienced symptoms or been in contact with those that have. We must act responsibly and in the best interests of the general population by following NHS guidelines.

We must act responsibly and in the best interests of the general population

This is not a time to fear financial loss but to act smart and implement solutions that allow staff members to do their job regardless of their physical location. Some of which are detailed below;

Cloud Telephony - work seamlessly with Teams Voice. There is no need for a traditional handset and collaboration is a challenge of the past.

Remote Network Access - ensure all staff that require it are provisioned with a device (laptop) that has a configured Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection to either your office network or cloud environment.

Data Storage Method - ensure all staff members save all data to your central storage area rather than local desktop machines. This will ensure where ever they go their data is accessible.

Like all things pertaining to disaster recovery its better to be proactive rather than reactive. A comprehensive disaster recovery plan will ensure your business can operate 'business as usual' functionality where possible, which at times like these will hold huge value to your clients.

If you are in any doubt as to what can be done to help your business remain operational during these ever trying times please get in touch.
