Don't strive to kill any relationship with silence. You may succeed. Effective suicide prevention always begins with us. —Harald Walter Azmann
Communication is King. Even as a child, experiencing people in my surroundings mostly doing it all wrong, I realized that courageous and ongoing communication eventually opens all doors, while failing to do so – for whatever clever but really unacceptable reasons – closes them. Sometimes even all of them, and for much less than good.
It is not hard to understand that a network of countless individuals cannot survive, let alone thrive, like that. We simply cannot continue inflicting upon each other, even while attempting to do our part and be of use in today's suicide pandemic, what's killing thousands of people around the planet every day.
As of the latest available data from the World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that approximately 800,000 people die by suicide each year. This translates to about 2,200 deaths by suicide each day worldwide.
It is expected to be ravaging human society for decades to come unless we put a stop to it, personally and collectively. We'll be forever saying that if we are not prepared to unlearn and leave behind our previously immature modes of thinking and behavior, and humbly leave them at the door, we'll never be able to take part in genuine suicide prevention.

1 周Great post. Communication is so important. To ask for help, and give it, to bridge differences and build relationships and understanding, to heal, to show love and compassion. For connections, purpose, learning, work and more.

1 周It doesn't take a seizemic shift in society to do something about this, simply everyone doing something small - being empathic and compassionate. Thank you Harald Walter Azmann for giving us all this opportunity to contribute and collaborate. ??

1 周This is a powerful and poignant message, Harald Walter Azmann You've eloquently highlighted the importance of open and honest communication in preventing suicide. Your call to action is both timely and necessary. It's crucial to remember that every interaction, no matter how small, can have a significant impact. By choosing words carefully and fostering understanding, we can create a more compassionate and supportive environment for those who may be struggling.

1 周Indeed, communication is the cornerstone of healthy relationships. It's brave to acknowledge the importance of open dialogue, even when it's difficult. Our willingness to communicate, despite past experiences, is a testament to our strength and wisdom. We must all understand and ebrace the fact that every conversation is an opportunity for growth and understanding.
Imagination is the Only Limitation to Transformation
1 周Harald Walter Azmann That's Right, Communication is King. Yet the sad reality is that it appears to be in a kingdom beyond. We know in intellect that communication is the connecting link to everything that we "be"come, and a quick glance and it is obvious that we are trained to do more than to be. So voices get suppressed and expression is silenced behind a smile, and the silence is deafening. It is in the ability to hear the words between the words that make communication the expression of connection and understanding, a knowing beyond knowledge and a perception beyond the surface. Bringing the awareness of this most critical experience will be a work of spiritual warriors for a purpose beyond our own time. And together we can all make a difference! ?? ????
