Don't just Climb to the peak of the mountain - go beyond the summit! A motivational article..
What do you do when you climb that mountain and reach the peak of an achievement?
You can go beyond, and find new worlds, or hidden valleys, that you may discover, of which you may well not known even existed, particularly if that topmost peak was the last restful seat on which you sat to ‘get your breath’ back .
In my own creative life, as example - When I reached my 100th minuet music writing recently, just the other day, I had that three-figure number on the?page, at last, and even by the 99th tune, I knew that moment of breaking through to three figures [ 100] was the peak of the mountain to aim for and had been achieved.
But then I decided to go beyond and see where it led me next, and to see where the hidden ideas of the mind would reveal themselves on the journey or expedition of creative thought.? It is such an obscure record to make, and really a very academic project to decide to do by myself alone; those plus 100 minuet tunes!
Currently, I have now made 106 minuet tunes! And each is an individual in personality as when they began; just in December 2023.? Number 106 is a gentle piece and is one of several with deliberate traits of the composer's style within it [ for the amusement of it]! Mr. Handel’s Pleasure! – it is called!
To all of those students, or other people I say you can achieve the climb up that mountain, and go beyond, never let anyone tell you otherwise.? In this world there is the constant drive to learn purely for certification or academic career need, or for the job at the end of the learning cycle, and this is fine; however, to learn in itself is also an important aim to struggle towards, otherwise we end up only with a grey world surrounded by the climate of misted money and financial dependence, and ideas not deemed worthy of providing that commercial benefit – can be easily overlooked, or ignored altogether.
If you do want to hear my minuet [106 in F major "Mr. Handel's pleasure"] have a peek! at my YouTube channel, because I play it on Chalumeau [ an early wooden clarinet precursor]. The link is just here [ my channel also has a huge wealth of interesting stuff on it - all unique and not available to watch anywhere else!] ITS FREE TO WATCH!
