Let's start with three small things everyone can do, whatever stage of your career, and whether you are actively looking for a job, open to the right offer, or happy at your current role.

1.- Update your LinkedIn images?

When was the last time you updated your profile photo and background image? Isn't it time to show a more recent photograph of yourself? Canva has loads of examples of LinkedIn profiles and cover image designs you can customise, even in the free version, for a more professional look and loads of online tutorials so you can learn to use their tool.?

  • A professional look will make your LinkedIn profile stand out and attract talent hunters—an easy way to make a great first impression.?

2.- Ask a friend to review your CV

If you're looking for a job, we don't doubt you have already updated your CV, but we hope you haven't kept it for yourself. Why not ask a friend to review it and give you some honest feedback??

  • Four eyes see more than two, they say. Your friend might highlight mistakes but also spot missed opportunities. Sometimes we aren't fully aware of our soft skills until someone else points out how good we are at listening, finding creative solutions to problems or explaining technical concepts to non-technical people.?

3.- Get serious about posting on LinkedIn continuously

Consistency matters for personal branding, so a great way to start making an impact is to start planning today. Some people block time in their diaries to post on LinkedIn and engage with other people's content, such as replying to a few comments here and there. Why not try that?
