Don't Ignore Your Self.
The word spread like wild fire, she is no more!
This all happened in fraction of seconds and there she lie dead on her workstation.
What would you call this: Work pressure, family distress, food deprivation, life imbalance, mid life crisis, karma, or sheer negligence?

Yes I knew her through a friend working in another organization. She has been a source of inspiration to all around her. No bad habits – except one! She ignored the early feedbacks given by her own body.
She had developed shortness of breath, but continued to postpone the visit to the doctor. She always said, I will go to the doctor once I complete my work, once I am done with my daily home chores, once the exam of my kids are over. And now what? She is over and yet the work that she once thought will get over is still left undone.
I have to say that whether I can blame any other thing or not, but this was sheer negligence on her part. And why only she, even we all do the same. We have given priority to everything else except our own self. We keep a promise that we have made to others, but not to our own selves. Why so?
We say if I think about myself, it is selfishness! But I say this is not selfishness, but giving a little bit more priority to your own self. And you can only take care of all the things when you are here, but when you are no more – then what?
So my call to all you people out there, please do not ignore your health, give a little bit more priority to yourself, and when you are fit, you can fix every other thing. Give some importance to your own sweet heart.

5 年Very much agreed Manash! Let us give priority to our body and listen to it. Do the regular full-body health-checkups (at least yearly once). Choosing foods each day that are rich in vitamins and minerals is the best way for your body to get what it needs to be healthy.
