I still remember when the idea for the Quick Confidence newsletter came to me. It was a rainy fall morning in November and I was sipping a cup of chai in my favorite chair.
I had a deep sense that people were just as eager as I was for more confidence in their lives, yet I second-guessed whether or not starting the newsletter was a good idea.
Would it add value? Was it a smart business move? Did I have the time to commit to such a project? These were the questions swirling around in my head and making it difficult for me to discern whether or not I was experiencing brilliant intuition or a passing impulse.
But the thirst to pursue the idea felt so visceral - so strong - that I figured it *had* to be worth pursuing. So I went with my gut instinct to move forward.
And am I ever glad that I did! Because had I not, I wouldn't be celebrating Quick Confidence surpassing 100k subscribers with you today. ??
A milestone made possible by your support — thank you! ??
The truth is, I see QC as more than just a newsletter. To me, it’s a community. A forum for people from all over the world to gather, share insights, and find encouragement for creating an inspired and confident life.
One of my favorite things about the Quick Confidence newsletter is getting to read all of your comments, questions, and experiences. It’s a weekly reminder that confidence matters - it's not some inconsequential thing in our lives.
And I can't help but think of all the opportunities and projects that sprung from the newsletter, most notably my new book, Quick Confidence. All of that would have been left on the table had I dismissed my gut feeling to start the newsletter.
The lesson here??

Don’t be so quick to discount intuition as a passing "itch." A lot of times they’re not passing impulses at all! It only *seems* that way because we focus on everything that could go wrong...until we decide to drop the idea altogether. We literally lower our self-confidence and scare ourselves into inaction.
Psychologist Daniel Kahneman defines intuition as “the ability to automatically generate solutions without long logical arguments or evidence.†So the next time intuition strikes, try leaning toward it rather than questioning it.
I know tapping into intuition isn’t always obvious if you aren’t used to it, so I encourage you to experiment with the strategies below (that I use regularly) for developing and strengthening your connection to intuition.?
Quick Confidence Tips for Connecting with Your Intuition:
- Embodied: Give yourself the gift of quiet. It’s hard to tap into your own guidance with distractions at every turn and our minds going a million miles a minute. So carve out time in your day where you can be alone with your thoughts and ideas. This break in your day is an opportunity to slow down, get attuned to yourself, and create space for noticing what excites and engages you. It’s important not to leave this to chance. Instead, intentionally schedule regular quiet time and treat it with the same importance you would any other commitment. For me, this means resisting the urge at times to put my earbuds in on a jog, or making a point not to start browsing my phone while standing in line or driving somewhere. Give yourself little pockets of quiet and you'll notice your best ideas emerge.?
- Interpersonal: Be mindful of who you surround yourself with. Believe it or not, who you spend time with affects your ability to tap into your intuition. That’s because people have the power to influence *your* energy with theirs. The constant talk of how ‘horrible’, ‘tragic’, and ‘awful’ someone's life is will make it harder for you to hear your own aspirations. Instead, cultivate and nurture relationships with people who uplift and inspire you. And do your best to be that person to others, so you create positive cascades. Here’s a challenge for you: Think of someone who enriches your life and reach out to them. It could be a text message letting them know you’re thinking of them. Or tag them in the comments below.?
- Mindset: You are enough. So often we need the validation of others before we can take action on our best ideas. The reality is, the more we look for external affirmation, the less confident we become in our decisions. Instead, we can trust ourselves and recognize that our own validation is enough. This quality is not the same as being overconfident or having all the answers all the time. It’s having a growth mindset that says "I have a wealth of knowledge and good judgment to draw from. I'm choosing to rely on that to make my choice." Incidentally, this advice helped me most when I became a mom to twins. The takeaway? Trust your own sense when something is not right, but listen just as keenly for those sparks, behaviors, and qualities that *do* feel right and reinforce them.
With the regular practice of these confidence-boosting techniques, you’ll soon find your inner voice getting louder and your fear of taking bold action on your exciting ideas dissipating.
