Don't Hit the Pig!
There is story I want to share with you that I heard over 30 years ago.?
A man in his forties wanted to re-visit his youth and purchased a beautifully restored British sports car. It is a warm Fall day and he decides to put the top down and take a ride in the countryside. The sun is shining, the breeze is cooling and the narrow road is winding. As he rounds a sharp curve a woman passes him and yells?“PIG”?as she flies by, he immediately yells?“COW”?back at her. He rounds the corner and hits a pig.
The women is stating a fact, the man was attacking the women.
Political dialogue is everywhere you turn these days; in fact, you cannot escape it. But there is a new element to these discussions that rages against reality. When the reality does not comport with someone’s inner political agenda, attack the person posting the fact. It has become a common tool and takes the discussion back into very shallow waters and solves nothing. We need to develop a better dialogue to work on our critical problems.
The facts are easy to find if you make an effort to vet them. Most journalism is not “fake,” just as the women yelling "pig" was a fact. Become informed.?
To do otherwise will crash you into the pig.
