Don't go mad.

In the 1976 movie Network, a TV news anchor goes crazy mad, on live TV, because of the circumstances in the country at that time. He starts ranting, I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.
?He tells everyone watching his show to stick their heads out their windows and yell, I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.
?If you’re feeling that way and want to yell, pause the video here. I’ll wait while you give it a try. Really. I’m not going anywhere. Feel better?
?While by all measures - poverty, technology, the reduction of world-wide disease, we are better off now than at any time in history.? But if that’s true, then why is everybody so mad? Put aside politics; just for a second.
It’s because we see the world through our own circumstances.
Maybe you're mad because:
Once we’ve focused our anger inside, everything looks like the proverbial nail waiting for the hammer. We’re mad at everything.
But, as Wayne Dyer said,
When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.
I am not saying ignore reality. This country, and the world have real problems that need everyone’s attention and involvement.? You may have your own set of complaints that need attention.
?What I am suggesting is to pause and flip the script. For example, to reframe the first issue, the business owner’s problem with the employees, it would sound something like this:
It’s my business, not my employees. What becomes of it is the action I take. They have their own issues to worry about.?
?Each of our anger issues can be reframed to help us be better.
?So, here’s your Action Item and Mission, should you decide to accept it: After you get your head back inside the window, pick an area that’s bugging you, where you can flip the script.
Everyone around you will feel better and appreciate your attitude. More importantly, you’ll feel better. You may not solve every one of yours or the world’s problems, but we do indeed need to be the change we want to see.
