Don’t Give Up Just Yet: The Power of Belief and Positivity Revealed

Don’t Give Up Just Yet: The Power of Belief and Positivity Revealed

“When you want it the most, there’s no easy way out,” Celine Dion sings in her song, That’s the Way It Is. She follows with, “Don’t give up on your faith; love comes to those who believe it… and that’s the way it is.”

She’s not far from the truth. Many of us, myself included, have reached points where we lose hope, faith, and even trust in ourselves and in God. We question ourselves, God, and even the universe.

“What did I do wrong? Who did I wrong?”

We ask, with congested self-pity, doubt, and resentment that often gets unknowingly projected onto others. We lose focus, become distracted, disconnected, and absent - losing sight of what really matters and slowly sinking into pity, worry, and doubt. Much of which could sometimes be within our control, but subconsciously, we choose to dwell in sadness and pain, which subsequently tricks our brains into believing that 'absolutely' nothing can be done.

What’s the point of saying all this? Sometimes, a choice to change what you believe or how you react to situations can actually help you take a huge leap forward, gaining solutions, feeling better, being happier, and projecting positive energy, which also trickles down to other parts of your life and the people you surround yourself with.

One thing we tend to forget is that dwelling on pain, misery, and hurt only delays us, wasting time and energy. Instead of crying over a failed business, a job rejection, or a lost contract, start by breathing.

No matter how hard it is, always believe that the universe is working for you. Be happy for the one who got the job appointment you lost, the one who won the contract, or the one whose 'same line' of business thrives.

Why should you be happy?

The universe knows, and whether you believe it or not, whatever you wish for others, the universe gives you tenfold. It’s just like how whatever you do to others is done to you one way or the other. It will always catch up. No matter how long it takes. And the reaping is always great. The Bible, the greatest book of all times, teaches us this principle: “Do unto others as you want others to do unto you.”

I have witnessed how genuine happy people who celebrate others never seem to lack. Remember, the focus is on 'genuine' because not everyone is. God often uses the universe and others to provide for them. The energy in the universe created by God is greater and more evident than we think. But that’s a discussion for another day.

The main point is to “Snap out of it" - snap out of that sad melancholic energy, the jealousy, self pity, hate, envy, etc. Yes, sometimes it’s inevitable; it may irk you deeply, but trust me, you’ll feel better by simply changing how you choose to feel and react when something unforeseen, undesired or unfortunate happens.

Another truth is that outside of the family and a small circle, we may often run out of people coming to our aid as quickly as we want when we feel “broken” , "needy" or "empty". It’s not because no one wants to help you or that your family doesn’t have time for you. Trust me, they are humans too, and may be going through the same or even worse situations, some refusing to share and acting like everything is fine while they die everyday on the inside.

What about standing in. Doing what you wish was done for you?... for them. Especially if its something you can do. But always remember to draw the line towards anything or anyone that wants to use your kindness as a weakness or drain your energy without reciprocation. We are not trying to feel worse now, are we?.

“Why should I be the one to make others feel good?” you might ask. Well, why shouldn’t you?

Did you know that trying to be there for others can make you feel better or even grateful, much more fulfilled and relaxed?. The trick is in ' energy' which we will talk about in a bit.

Now, God sees, hears, and feels everything. When you do good, know that God sees, hears and feels it, and that’s worth more than any human recognition or praise. If you think it’s not worth it, I guess that's your choice. But you’ll start to see abundance flow into your life with time.

Again, you must believe it to work for you.

With today's world, we often get caught up in trying to 'prove' ourselves, losing sight of the very little things. Fame, name, money, achievements, and class have become the norm. While it’s good to hold value, let’s occasionally pause and focus on the very little we can do to make others feel better. And when we do, let us be genuine. Lets feel human. Let us not do it for accolades or for praise.

Give to receive.

If you want respect, give it. If you want love, give it. If you want peace, give it. If you want money, give it. God, through the universe, finds a way to bring it all back to you. That’s why “whatever a man sows, he shall reap.” Don’t focus on what you don’t have. Give what you have, especially if it’s in abundance, because you can’t give what you don’t have. If given with a pure heart, it will surely come back to you in multiple folds.

I’ve shared a lot, but the essence is that many lives depend on you - not necessarily through money or material things, but through through the very little things; uplifting words, encouragement, or even with a smile.

Now, no matter what happens, try to overcome negative happenings first with positivity, even if it doesn’t solve the problem. There is immense power in how changing how you feel makes the problem go away. We will discuss this another time.

... believe in yourself and be your number one fan.

It can get tough, but when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Trust me, I’m still learning this. Start trusting in God and believing that all things work together for your good. Such an attitude moves God to do things for you. These are secret principles and laws ordained by God that even the universe has to obery.

Help others whenever you can - one good turn will always deserve another.
