Don't Give Up

Imagine you were the eldest on nine children.

Imagine you survived tuberculosis.

Imagine three of your siblings didn’t make adulthood.

Imagine your father passed away when you were sixteen years old.

Imagine you had to dress down to make yourself less attractive to secure a job.

Imagine a couple of years into your career the ship you were working on collided with a warship, sunk and you survived.

Imagine you continued working, this time on the Titanic. The Titanic sunk and you were one of the survivors.

Imagine you worked for The Red Cross aboard a British hospital ship. This ship was stuck by a torpedo and sunk.

All these events happened to Violet Constance Jessop.

Any one of these events may have caused people to give up but Violet kept going.
