Don't Get Stuck In Engineer Mode

Don't Get Stuck In Engineer Mode

If you think like an engineer - it’s easy to see the world as a series of interesting mechanical problems. When you’re locked in a room alone, designing a solution things are relatively simple, the world makes sense.

Everything falls apart when you try to share that solution with someone else. Why? Because human relationships aren’t mechanical, they’re dynamic, and dynamics are relativistic. They change depending on the situation.

Success in business actually depends more on relationship dynamics than physical mechanics. That’s why many highly educated and innovative people fail to reap the rewards for their technically marvelous solutions - while far less educated individuals can build highly successful businesses on very rudimentary solutions. Business isn’t about solving mechanical puzzles because it’s fun - it’s about solving human problems because it’s valuable.
