Don't Get Left Behind! Explore AI, IFA, DeepSeek and Operator

Signs you are reading AI-written content

Look, I know AI is all the rave right now, and it’s so easy to rely on what AI can do, how quickly it can do things, and how much it can take off of your plate from completing tasks quicker. But let’s be real, content written by AI, without the human touch, is more than likely hurting your brand and reputation more than it’s helping it.?

Here are the most common signs for AI written content:

  1. Repetitive phrasing
  2. Overly formal or robotic tone
  3. AI-splaining - it’s like mansplaining but for AI (see what I did there?)
  4. The emojis
  5. Formatting in ways humans typically don’t

Check out the full article for detailed examples of each AI common sign, how using AI content without human touch can actually be hurting your brand more than helping, and actionable tips on how to improve your content - even if ChatGPT is helping you write it.

Hello, Operator! (Can you give me number nine?)

OpenAI just dropped something exciting—meet Operator! This new AI tool is designed to tackle everyday web tasks like ordering groceries or sorting expense reports. Basically, it’s like having a super-efficient assistant for all those things you’d rather not do yourself.

Operator uses the latest GPT-4o tech to navigate websites like a human, blending visual understanding with smart decision-making. Right now, it’s only available to ChatGPT Pro users in the U.S., but it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on if you’re all about simplifying your day-to-day tasks.

Learn more about Operator.

Hide and (Deep)Seek

DeepSeek's breakthrough is pretty simple at its core - they figured out how to make AI work smarter by only using the parts of its "brain" it actually needs for each task. Instead of searching through everything it knows for every question (like most AI does), it efficiently routes to the right "expert" knowledge area. Think of it like having a library with a master librarian who instantly knows which specific section has your answer, rather than having to search through every single book in the building.

Now, they're claiming this uses way less computing power - like 95% less - which would make it much cheaper to run than U.S. competitors. While we should be a bit skeptical about their exact numbers and development timeline (when something seems too good to be true...), the core innovation appears solid: they've demonstrated you can run powerful AI on less expensive hardware.

NVIDIA's stock tumbles but I'm not in the camp that thinks this is the beginning of the end - even if DeepSeek's approach proves to be as efficient as claimed, having more computing power and bigger data centers is still going to be valuable. Why? Because if you can do more with less, imagine what you could do with more! It's like inventing a better way to grow tomatoes - sure, each plant needs less water and space, but if you have massive greenhouses, you're not just saving resources - you're feeding entire cities instead of neighborhoods.

Bottom line: This is about optimization, not elimination of computing needs. The race for AI dominance isn't slowing down - it's just getting more efficient.

The Latest Scoop

In case you didn’t already know, we were invited to speak at the Ben & Jerry’s Franchise Annual Meeting this month and we CANNOT get over it. Our dynamic keynote session brought together Ben & Jerry's CMO Jay Curley with TIYL's own Patti and Ingrid for an interactive exploration of AI's practical applications (we love an applicable real world moment) in the franchise world. The session went beyond theory, offering hands-on experience with AI tools and applications specifically tailored for ice cream franchises.?

If you're looking for speakers who know the franchise space inside and out—and bring a little extra magic to the stage—we’d love to be a part of your next event!
