Don’t Get Furious, Get Curious

There is so much fury in our world today.

Looking at the flooding disasters from Jackson, MI to Pakistan coupled with inaction across the globe, millions of us are impacted by, and furious about, climate change.

Looking at rising and structural inequity for women and BIPOC groups, many of us are furious about the issues of diversity, equity and inclusion in our world.

Looking at waves of social change and rising violence in the face of demographic change, so many of us are furious about social justice.

This week, I had the incredible honor of going into the field with one of our IDEO project teams in the health domain, working on designing the future of healthcare. While observing our team in action, one of our core values shined so brightly: Curiosity. While there is so much in our broken healthcare systems to get furious about, our project team was in the field, hand in hand with practitioners, getting curious.

As I reflected on this field trip, I wondered...

how might we address all of our biggest, most insurmountable challenges in this world... if, instead of getting furious, we all chose to get curious?

At IDEO , we are co-designing the future of everything, a future that includes every one of us, a future that is fit for every one of us. Where others are justifiably furious, we are insatiably curious.

We believe that #ThisWorkCantWait?

We can’t wait to co-design innovative, human-centered solutions with you.

Love this concept. I agree with Eric Williamson about innovation, and it helps us to think about how we might be empowered to contribute to the solutions by asking the right questions. Even Elmo tells the kids..."when you have a problem to solve...what do you say? I wonder?...what if?...lets try!" lets get curious!
