Don't forget about what you need

I've rewritten this email about 15 times. There are pressures when you're in charge of fundraising that make it hard to balance the personal and professional, and right now I'm feeling it more than I every have.
Getting this email out this week is a struggle. It's hard. It feels impossible.
I'm ok, but I find myself out of town, helping my dad heal through something that could be life changing for him.
I am blessed in many ways.
I have a job that allows me to be remote. I have clients that understand that sometimes, I'm not available and that family is most important. I have a husband that doesn't question being a single dad for at least a week. I have kids that...well, are teenagers so don't leave the room for more than half the day anyway.
Things happen that you don't expect. And while my brain goes immediately into panic mode of wanting to be everything to all people still, I am grateful to have people in my corner that are understanding that life happens.
As fundraisers, we put everyone before ourselves.
Our donors. Our goals. Our board. Our executive director. Our financials.
Remember that if you don't have a full cup you cannot support your organization in the best way possible. We all have things that come up in our lives. Let's support each other, and grow our missions from a place of community, engagement and trust.
I ?? you!
