Don't Fake It 'Til Ya Make It
I know you've heard this advice. "Fake It 'Til Ya Make It, Baby!
Well, I think it's crap. (It's second only in my opinion to "Follow Your Passion!" as being garbage advice.)
And, I think it's crap for two reasons.
First, the whole idea of "fake it 'til ya make it" rests on the premise that you haven't made it yet but you better hurry and catch up, at all and, second, that you have to be anyone other than yourself to even ever dream of beginning to one day think about maybe approaching making it.
Nonsense. Look at you! You've done a lot of cool stuff, and all of it leads you to what comes next.
There are a lot of things that I do, seemingly having never done anything like them before. And, in research my book, Wonderhell, I talked to more than 100 glass-ceiling shatterers, Olympic gold medalists, start up unicorns, and every day people just like you and just like me. They'd also done things they seemingly never done before. But they used one particular trick to succeed, and it wasn't faking it.
It was even simpler:
They changed the voice in their head that warned, "Oh, I've never done this before" into a voice that cheered "Wow, I've never done this before!"
Want to know how?
The One Thing you need to do this week is to join close to 2M people who have watched my talk on TED.com about it.
And, then re-share it on your social platform so that we can all get better together.

Thank you for sharing! “Fake it” is bound to be unveiled one day—and the fall from grace will not be pleasant! :) Being “fake” is rarely able to be sustain for a long-time into the future. It is much better to be honest, certainly with ourselves too.? Wishing you an amazing and fruitful week ahead & take care! ??
