Don't be disheartened by your job searching efforts at this time of year. Here's why!

Do you feel like you aren't getting anywhere with your job search? Do you feel like your recruitment process is being dragged out? Does it feel like there is a shortage of relevant jobs being advertised?

Chances are, this is not a reflection of you as a candidate. This time of year businesses are often in the middle of their 2024 planning cycle and hiring teams may also be taking some time off making it difficult to proceed with interview scheduling.

Given everything that has unfolded in 2023 I would assume headcount planning will come under more scrutiny across many organisations and therefore caution will be exercised as to what jobs can be advertised.

I know this period can be difficult and stressful as it can mean financial strain for some but I want to share some optimism and share some actions you can take to put you into a positive mindset for 2024 which is just around the corner!

Forbes are predicting that the job market will improve in 2024 as a result of more positive stock market performance and economic outlook meaning businesses should be looking to make investments into people.

In the meantime, focus on what matters most at this time of year. Your health and family.
